Sharing your Tribes Posts via Twitter
If I had to list my least favourite social media networks then Twitter would be pretty high up in the list. I am a visual person and with the rate that twitter works plus the amount of text even when broken up with Twitter Card images it’s just not something that I can get my head around. However, we know we are all not alike and some people love it, others hate it. But, it can be a traffic driver and there are systems that you can use to send out tweets; schedulers, automatic feeds from your site etc… Today though I’m focusing on sharing your tribe’s posts via Twitter.

Why automation is going to be your friend!
As I said I don’t like Twitter but from experience, I’m trying to reach my audience and they could be on Twitter. As it’s something I don’t like if I spend time there I find it a chore and start to dislike it even more so I’m one of those people that will automate.
I already automate my own posts there – every time a new post is published on my site it gets sent to Twitter for me. I think there maybe a second tweet as well later in the day, but I’m not entirely sure.
However, just my content would make for a very boring and useless feed for others so I set up some automations with my tribe so that I can send quality content out to my followers over there. And it’s really easy to do and FREE.
Setting up your IFTTT statements to share your tribe’s posts
If you have never used IFTTT before then it’s so easy to use and helps no end. I’m gradually using it more and more and the latest is to share my tribe’s posts via Twitter.
It would be nice if I could hand you over the applet that works but this is one of the automations that is going to take you a little time to set up if you are doing the FREE route but once in place, it will just run.
Step by Step to set up your IFTTT statements to share your tribe’s posts to Twitter
- Login to IFTTT
- Click on My Applets at the top
- Now New Applet
- Click on the big BLUE +THIS
- Select RSS Feed
- Select New Feed Item
- Add in your tribe mate’s Feed URL this is done one at a time (for a cost you can automate multiple feeds at once)
- Click Create Trigger

- Select Twitter
- Select Post a Tweet
- Add in any hashtags plus the tribe mates @name so that if someone clicks and likes they can be followed too
- Click Create Action

The cost version would involve a subscription to Feedly plus to Buffer – find out more here – How to Automate Twitter using Feedly and Buffer
